WHAT TIME IS IT?
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
Naperville Road Runner Sports Adventure Run is a fun, 60-minute scavenger run filled with hundreds of friends, giveaways, raffle prizes, music and free beer. It’s awesome.
The idea is you run to fun checkpoints near your Naperville Road Runner Sports store to grab as many free raffle tickets as you can. The more checkpoints you get to, the more chances you’ll have to win over $2500 in gift certificates and running gear. Did we mention it’s FREE?
GIMME THE NITTY GRITTY
You gotta register first. It’s easiest (and smartest) to
pre-register here because you’ll get through the registration lines faster.
Bringing lots of friends? They can also register at the event from 5p-6p.
Arrive at 5p to check out the FREE Product Demo Bar, a vendor expo where sponsors will give YOU the opportunity to test the newest running shoes, apparel, electronics and all kinds of great gear during the Adventure Run—for FREE! Test their gear and receive an extra raffle ticket before the run even starts!
START YOUR ENGINES
The adventure begins at 6p! At registration you will have gotten a Ziploc bag, pen, and piece of paper to track checkpoints. When the clock strikes 6p we’ll unveil a huge map with up to 12 checkpoints (name of business and cross streets are given). HINT: Bring your smartphone to take a photo of the map to reference during the run. Also, new for 2012, if you pre-register you’ll receive an e-mail at 6pm with a GPS guided map!
You’ve got exactly 60 minutes to run to as many checkpoints as you can. Note that you won’t be awarded any extra tickets for running to all the checkpoints, BUT the more checkpoints you run to, the more chances you’ll have to win prizes at the finish.
DOUBLE YOUR RAFFLE TICKETS!
Buy the super cool Thursday Adventure Run technical tee from your Naperville Road Runner Sports store and you’ll get twice as many raffle tickets at every checkpoint! Here are 2 more reasons to get the tee:
- Get 2 MORE raffle tickets for the coveted In-Store Raffle the night you buy the tee!
Shirts are on sale RIGHT NOW at your Road Runner Sports! Hurry in and get yours because there is a limited quantity, and once they sell out they’re history until next year!
The raffle starts right around 6p, so be sure you make it back in time. You can score gift certificates for shoes, heat-moldable insoles, nutrition products, and tons more prizes!
Enter the coveted In-Store Raffle for your chance to win a $400 prize package (plus better odds than the large post-run raffle). Prize package will include a gift from each of the In-Store Raffle sponsors and may include new shoes, socks, running apparel, water bottles, and lots more fun stuff.
To enter, all you have to do is buy the Thursday Adventure Run technical tee. Plus, if you buy any featured product from your Adventure Run sponsors you’ll get an extra raffle ticket for every $10 you spend! It’s a perfect time to stock up on essentials!
Think the fun is over after the RUN, HUGE RAFFLE and BEER GARDEN at Road Runner Sports? WRONG!
Every month Road Runner Sports will host an off-site After-Party. There will be beer and food specials, and an After-Party raffle that has over $600 worth of gift certificates.
Didn’t win anything at the run? Here’s your chance at the After-Party! Meet other participants and share stories about the checkpoints you ran to over a nice Deschutes beer and food. Win some prizes and unwind, all while meeting new running friends in your community!
ADVENTURE RUN FAQs
When is cutoff for pre-registration?
Noon, the day of the event. After that, you will have to register when you show up to the Adventure Run. Be sure to get there as early as possible!
Where does the Thursday Adventure Run Start/Finish?
It always starts at your local Road Runner Sports store.
Is this a running only event, or can walkers attend?
Walkers and runners alike are both welcome! Many checkpoints are well within walking distance of an hour, which is how long participants have to visit as many checkpoints as possible.
How much does this cost?
If I run to all checkpoints, how long will that be?
Because the course changes each month, and everyone’s route is different, it’s impossible to know. Most people can get to 6-8 checkpoints and it’s rare that people can hit all 12. It can be from 5 miles up to 9 miles, but don’t become too obsessed with getting to all the checkpoints–just make sure you get back by 7:30pm!
If I can’t make it before 6pm, can I still participate?
You can definitely show up late. We keep the map up so participants can come back and check it out again if they need to. Just realize that the later you start the run the less time you have to get raffle tickets at the checkpoints.
Is there a free bag check?
Yes, at the registration tent.
